At the airport

This is the first time I have ever used a laptop in public. It’s surprising how self conscious I feel. Like a real business woman or supergeek or something. The laptop wobbles like mad on my knee and I worry that I will dump the whole thing on the floor. Next time I might even have wireless.
I like the freedom of being able to stick my thoughts down when I want. Not that I have many. I am just stopping dripping with sweat from hauling my stuff through an air conditioned airport. But it’s 35C/95 F outside, and it’s always a hassle to travel.
Nice hassle, but a hassle.
Security is decent. Had to take my shoes off, laptop out of case. Many things to juggle. They stand there and hustle you and you feel like you’re being herded. Wait! You ARE being herded. But you know, it’s better than the situation when I got on my international flight in 2002 and nobody checked me or my bags at all.
I have been listening to two friends discussing misc. health issues – not illness, but stuff like stevia, exercise and dried bananas. The man seemed eager to please the woman by telling her of his efforts to be healthier. The woman seemed knowlegeable. I’m sitting at the wrong gate, and there are no seats looking out on the planes like I like. I bought my parents a postcard and wrote it. Luckily I found my pen since the ones they were selling were $3.
I ate an expensive muffin which filled me, and have chips for later. I need to eat them out here, or the bag will burst in my bag. My bag is almost bursting anyway. I’ve had it since I was 15 or so when I requisitioned it for my school history field trip. It still has my maiden name on it, and one zipper is held with a tie wrap since the pully bit broke in St. Louis.
That’s enough for now. I love this writing thing. Feels so much more direct than writing it up afterwards.
92% of my battery remains. Such power.
