RSS Asking for some favors
Filed in BlogI was wondering if I might ask friends and readers of Raven’s Roads for a couple of favors.
Favor the First
Firstly, the site is slipping down the rankings at the Bloggers’ Choice Awards. Raven’s Roads was nominated for Best Travel Blog. While winning is now beyond the reach of this site, it would be lovely to finish in, say, the top five. To do that currently needs another fifty or so votes. If you haven’t already, please could you vote, or even ask your friends to vote if that’s ok? Here is the link to do so.
And while you’re at it please vote for Polliwog’s Pond and Bobbarama, whom I consider to be my teammates in this adventure (sadly, it looks as if we’re all going to lose out to the big guys–but it’s nice to play).
Favor the Second
Would you pleae nominate some blogs for the White Raven Award? I’m looking for well-written blogs on any topic where the personality of the blogger really shines through and where I don’t have to sign up to read it or post comments. The writing doesn’t have to be “grammatically perfect”–it just needs to flow.
Favor the Third
If you are a biker or know bikers, please will you mention the feature Show us yer bike on your blog? Biker=anyone who rides a motorized two wheeled (or in some cases three wheeled) vehicle: motorcycle, scooter, trike.

My friend, I will put out a get out the vote thing for that soon as well to get the three of us more votes as we (finally!) head into the last stretch. They close on October 19th I think? If we three all finish in the top 10 for our categories, i think that’s a phenomenal accomplishment.
I will mention our features on my blog as well. We still need to do a markeroni thing one day and you are ALWAYS open for a guest frogger post, on any subject at any time. :-) I know we’ve both been busier than all get out lately. But I know you know I am always here for you, and I know that you are there for me too.
Lastly, your blog is looking amazing, You will pass me by in readers and numbers before long. In that spirit, I have given you an award on my blog today called he Best Kept Secret Blog. Please come pick it up when you have time! It is one you can pass on to others if you choose.

Now the voting closes in October? I’d first heard May, and I’ve pretty much given up trying to even stay on the first page of the four categories I’ve been nominated for. What turned into a neat idea became a chore to keep up with. :(

Polli, you have officially made my day. :) What started as a really craptastic day has just brightened.
I’m sorry I didn’t do the guest post when I said I would. Things have just been silly around here. Once the move is over and we are settled somewhere, I will be able to branch out a bit more.

SGH: I’d given up too, but someone came and poked me because she liked my blog and didn’t know why I had no brag badge. I figure it’s worth trying for another month. Perhaps next year’s will be better organized. ;)
