A Wednesday Night’s Blog

Filed in Motorcycling

There are a great many great motorcycle blogs out there, and some wonderful author blogs too. Some of them give me a real sense of blog envy, so I figured I’d make one of my own.

This is the first post in a motorcycling author’s blog.

I’ve been a writer all my life, and a rider since I was eighteen. Actually, I first learned to ride when I was eighteen, but then stopped for a number of years, which was probably a good thing because it means that I lived to grow older. I picked it up again some time later, and have been at it for ten years now, working my way up gradually from 125ccs to 1400ccs. But the writing–I decided that I was going to be a writer when I was six years old, and here I am. I love the fact that writing and riding almost sound the same, though it helps if I pretend to have an American accent and fiddle with the consonants a bit.

I would not be Me without the writing and the riding. Both are deep passions of mine: things that are part of my core.

But it’s late. I’m too old to pull an all-nighter; a cup of tea awaits, and I must away. I do not yet know how this journal will unfold, other than that it simply will; but I do know one thing: you are most welcome. Please ride along on my writings. (I don’t take passengers on my bike.) I will try to make sure that it’s not boring.
