7th July: Rte. 207

Route 207 is a loop that parallels US-395 and is very alpine-scenery. Genoa, a little historic town at one end, is a bit like the Swiss village its name evokes. Presumably there is some Swiss history there; I’ll have to see.

It also seems to have a landmark every couple of miles, so I was making frequent stops. Many are odes to towns that do not exist any more–so many little towns were born and died because of the various rushes; gold, silver, tungsten, lead, copper…
