I’m quite behind in my journal, but I will say that I made it safely to Hitchin yesterday. Tomorrow, AFAIK, I am going to Ipswich. Sunday, I am going to Woking. Next trip, I want my *own* transportation. ;-)

But I probably won’t get that lucky.

Here are some pictures from my magical trip round Aberdeenshire on the 29th, which was last Thursday.

1. Easter Aquorthies stone circle. Real sense of power coming from it, wild and beautiful setting. There are many circles and standing stones in that area, which is rural and attractive.

2. Dunottar Castle. I saw it on a calendar and wanted to go. Now, I have. It is awe-inspiring and beautiful. The photos should make the why of that clear. :-)

3. Men’s WC at the castle. Made me laugh.

4. What you have to ascend and decend to reach this castle!

On the trip we also saw several fascinating pictish stones, which are large, carved stones dating to about the 9th century A.D. One of them had ogham writing carved into it, which was a first for me. I am quite fascinated by the druids, and AFAIK this was their writing.
