This is the place
We drove until there were no more people in sight, and then we called it good. Happy New Year!
Arriving destination
Today was a day for tumbleweeds, tumble drying and tumbling into a new adventure. We have officially arrived in Quartzsite.
Candy Mountain
I’ve dubbed the chocolate-striped mountain north of us Candy Mountain. Now we’ve established that, we went shopping in Blythe.
Chihuahuas of doom
We finally got registered at the LTVA. We immediately had to leave Arizona because we needed to grocery-shop, and Quartzsite isn’t the place to do it.
Office hours
The LTVA has office hours now. We still missed them but at least we know the wait in limbo is about to end.
Chocolate for breakfast
Boxing Day was a quiet affair that involved leftovers and chocolate. Come to think of it, isn’t that the definition of Boxing Day?
I saw a ship come sailing by…
Christmas dinner was an exciting event, but even more exciting was the fact that the RV Pit Stop was open on Christmas Day.
Christmas Eve
Christmas is broken and there’s no room at the inn. I guess one could say we’ve had better days.
Camp Julius
Out in the desert here is a covered fireplace, cross and makeshift memorial to an anonymous Julius, “friend to all.” Unfortunately, we’re starting to wonder if Quartzsite is inclined to be friends to us at all.
