I explored Bakerfield’s historic sites and found beautiful architecture. Also, pink Philadelphia is a bit of a shock.

We escaped the campground and went to shop at Walmart and Harbor Freight. One of our fixes is easy and requires nothing more complex than a bolt.

The ranger didn’t show up as expected, so I undertook a three-mile hike to fetch cat food from the nearest convenience store.

Kern River County Park has interesting bird life, a perfect dump station and a great spot for solar and Internet. It’s ours for the next few days.

I developed sudden onset allergies, and we shopped Camping World on Black Friday. Go us.

Some effort was made to provide attractive greenery (and yellowy and reddery) at Buttonwillow northbound rest area.

I went outside just in time to see sunrise and it took us all day to make our way to Thanksgiving dinner.

I went in search of the San Andreas fault and found a frosty world. It’s not looking good for our being able to spend Thanksgiving here.
