The ranger didn’t show up as expected, so I undertook a three-mile hike to fetch cat food from the nearest convenience store.

Kern River County Park has interesting bird life, a perfect dump station and a great spot for solar and Internet. It’s ours for the next few days.

I went outside just in time to see sunrise and it took us all day to make our way to Thanksgiving dinner.
