Callahan, California was a stop along the California-Oregon trail. Today, it’s a sleepy little town that still has its own “emporium,” an old schoolhouse and a post office.

Highway 3 from Yreka travels through beautiful Scott Valley and then winds its way over the mountain, which is “exciting” in an RV!
Yreka! We have found it!
Yreka is the county seat of Siskiyou County, one of the northernmost counties in California. Its main street has a plaque on every building.

We are now full-timing on the road. Our adventure began with a mad quest for lightbulbs.
Parting is such sweet sorrow
The macerator is unclogged, we can get a U-haul whenever we need one and the final party has been partied. Now, all we have to do is part, and depart. Parting is harder.
