Busy week. I think this is going to be a busy lifestyle, actually.

Last week began in a different campground in Lodi, one next to a railroad which suited me just fine. Then we made a little road trip to the Bay Area. Already, after being away for a week or so, it’s a system shock to return to so much traffic and congestion and so many unhappy, incompetent drivers. We went to Camping World in San Martin, an RV-specific supplies store, and I attended the midnight write-in for NaNoWriMo (and had my first ever banana split, it must be said). The icing on the cake was bringing the RV to the street near where Barb lives and having a long visit and giving her the guided tour.

We’ve been setting up home: much of our shopping is done and now most everything is contained in some way. This is a good thing and stops the clutter from building up. We still have trouble finding things, sometimes. It’s fun devising “systems” and learning. What works gets kept and what doesn’t work doesn’t. Oh, and our black water tank (where all the nasty stuff goes) no longer leaks. That was part of the reason for visiting Camping World. ;)

A lot more detail and the chronology of all of this is going up on Raven’s RV. It has a LiveJournal feed also: add user ravensrv_rss if you want to follow along.

The current campground is likely to remain our home for a while, though we are toying with the idea of a quick vacation to Nevada before we plant anchors and establish residency here. We really do like the RV life but there are a few things we need to take care of before we can go touring for good, and we can apparently use this as our residence (it’s also about $200/month cheaper than anywhere else, includes high speed internet and utilities, and even satellite TV. We just have to put up with a pretty ugly campground and a 200 square foot home: but when we get bored we can just unhook everything and go for a drive. :-).

I am, of course, also writing a novel, as well as getting used to running two blogs and thinking it’s about time I revitalized Markeroni. It’s not as easy as last year, because this year I have no real idea where it’s going (the novel, that is).

On the other hand, it’s not boring.

Life, in general, is not boring.
