The store opened today. I didn’t get to work opening, which is a disappointment to me; the Grand Opening is on Thursday which I am working but isn’t quite as meaningful. I am hired until 20th October and then I get to find out whether they’ll hire me on again, perhaps for the o-so-lovely retail holiday season. ;-)

The last few days I was working on detailing which is making sure everything looks absolutely beautiful and stacked up and even for the new customers. I found it strangely soothing.

I have my fixed hours now which includes one afternoon/evening shift to which I’m really not looking forward. On the other hand, I now start my other three shifts at nine, so that means no more getting up at 5:30. That’s a relief.

This has not been a good week. It has been a week full of bad moods and stress and throwing boxes around and getting bruises and feeling exhausted. I look and feel haggard and there are deep rings under my eyes.

We went to the storage shed on Wednesday and stopped off at an RV dealership on the way. Three hours later we had a better idea of what we did and didn’t like but still no RV. The one I liked, apparently, is very overpriced. We are looking on Craigslist, too. Meanwhile, many more things are going into boxes ready for another trip to storage on Tuesday or Wednesday, and then the final move, involving a U-Haul, is this Sunday. Signing of papers will occur tomorrow, as far as I know.

Allegedly, this too shall pass.
