Filed in Motorcycle Road Trips, Raven's Roads 2005I’m on dialup here, so I need to be a bit careful about how much time I spent online. I get ten hours free per month, and I could use them up Pretty Darn Quick if I didn’t ration myself. ;-)
I’m still in Winslow, and will be staying another day. I’m suffering from the blues, but nothing terrible. Female biology has kicked in - just read between the lines. ;-) And all the exhaustion/sleep deprivation from the last week just hit me, so I didn’t get myself out of bed until gone nine. I’m going to touch base with the manager later to get a new key card. It’s a comfortable motel, with a fridge and TV and microwave.
The weather is supposed to calm down a bit the next day or two. I have three options, in order of preference.
1) Ride to Albuquerque, park bike at Oakwoman’s place (or with one of her misc. cousins or brother downtown), fly to Fort Worth, fly back.
This’ll cost roughly the same as riding there and staying in a motel or cabin every night.
2) Stow the bike here in a mini storage unit, catch the Greyhound to Albuquerque, and fly.
3) Stow the bike here, and Greyhound to Fort Worth - a long ride, and not much cheaper than flying.
4) Ride back to Flagstaff, and fly to Fort Worth - but it’s $200 more expensive than flying from Albuquerque (go figure).
Hello, Albuquerque. ;-)
There’s another really neat reason for ending the road trip (motorcycle portion) at Albuquerque too, but that’s a surprise. ;-)
Have I told you about the Grand Canyon yet?
